First Trip to Vegas!

Just Chillin' with dad in the hotel
Adriana with her cousins Kathernine, Jack and Sofia

We just got back from our trip to Vegas.  It was Adriana's first big trip, first plane ride and first time in Vegas.  We went to meet up with Rob's Aunt Diane, Uncle Bob, Aunt Jan and their families.  All of Rob's brothers and their families came as well.  Unfortunately Rob's sister Janine and her family were unable to make it and we missed having them there.

Adriana did really good on her first plane ride.  She was a little fussy to start but settled in nicely.  She did better than mommy.  There was a lot of turbulence on the flight and I am not a fan of flying so I was a wreck but she thought it was fun and just chilled on daddy's lap through it all.  We got a lot of compliments after the flight about how great she was which was nice.  I always picture people being horrible to you when you get on a plane with a baby but we had great experiences both ways.  They were long travel days and Adriana did really good.

We had a great time.  We spent most of our days by the pool.  It was extremely hot so Adriana and I had to split our time between the pool and the room but it was still fun.  I thought she would not like the water because it was so cold but she loved it.   Adriana's cousins, Abby, Paul, Katherine, Jack and Sofia were there so they kept her entertained.   As you may or may not know, Adriana is quite the mommy's girl and she is not exactly open to having people other than Rob and I hold her, but she did great at letting everyone hold her and play with her.  I was amazed.

On Saturday we were supposed to have a big picnic in the park but since it was 106 degrees we decided to do bowling instead.  Adriana didn't quite like that and I ended up having her sleep on me the whole time but we still had a good time.

We kept her up late, took her to casinos and made sure she had the full Vegas experience.   I think all in all she enjoyed it.  I think she is already missing the sounds of the slot machines ringing in her head.

My first Braves game

Adriana has finally attended her first Braves game.  We tried to go back in April but it was canceled due to snow so we went to the make up game.  We went with Adriana's new Braves buddies Liam. Mandy and Rudy.

This Braves outfit is by far the cutest thing that Adriana owns.  I love it.  She was good luck for the Braves as they won.  She did great at the game and we were able to stay for 7 innings.  She spent the first 2 innings trying to eat her shoes...but we had a good time.

My New Friend Jack

Adriana and Jack, Holly's dog, have been trying to figure each other out for a while.  I think they finally get it.  Jack was very curious and a little nervous about her when she was first born and we brought her over to Holly's.  I don't think he knew what to do with something that was smaller than him.  They are now more on an even playing field.  Jack is a great dog and is very gentle with her.  He loves to give her kisses and she loves to grab him.  They are now getting along famously.

Happy Father's Day, Update

Rob's first Father's day all in all went pretty well.  He got to golf all day Saturday and then Sunday Adriana and I took him on a picnic to the park.  Adriana really enjoyed laying on a blanket in the grass.  We finished the day at my sister's having dinner with my family.  It was a fun weekend and Rob got in some good relaxation time.  I even let him play video games on Sunday during daylight hours. :)  Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Adriana rolled over from front to back 3 times tonight at my sister's.  She seems to be getting the hang of it.  She really wants to roll from front to back but when she is about to flip, she kind of freaks herself out and stops.  When she is on her stomach, she is starting to put her legs underneath herself and sticks her butt in the air.  She is getting more and more ready to get moving around herself.  I am excited for all that to come but am sure going to miss this time right now when I can control where she goes.  She is growing so fast!!  I have a feeling the next few months are going to be a whirlwind.   Her favorite toy of the week is Elmo.  I think the main attraction of him are the eyes atop his head.  They are very easy to put in her mouth.

This week we are heading to Vegas to have a reunion with some of Rob's family.  I am sure I will have lots of pictures to post next week.

Weekend in Breckenridge

Just chilling in my favorite pj's
Taking a nap with Grandpa
Adriana with Ally

We spend this last weekend in Breckenridge at my sister's condo.  It was nice for us to get out of town and really just have a weekend to relax.  It was especially nice being with my family as there was no shortage of people that wanted to give Adriana all of their attention.  I got to actually read a book and had one whole meal that wasn't interrupted.  I can't remember that last time that happened.

Adriana discovered her feet this last week.  I am not sure that is a milestone per say but it provides me with a lot of entertainment.  Today she figured out how to get her toes into her mouth.  She seemed fairly impressed with herself once she accomplished this.  She has been in a great mood as of late.  Lots of smiles and giggles for us.  It is nice.  It makes you think that you might be doing something right.

Here are some pictures of the week.

My First Attempt at Solid Foods

Today we fed Adriana rice cereal for the first time.  It went fairly well.  I don't think any of the cereal was ever actually swallowed, but by the end she was keeping some in her mouth and trying to get a taste for it.  So I think it was a good first attempt.  She was smiling when it was all over which means success at the Etchepare's.
