Cousin Abby

So Adriana's cousins from Pennsylvania came to visit and spent a few nights with us. Adriana had a blast with Paul and Abby. They are such great kids and we really loved having them. We took them to a Rockies game, shopping, and then split off and Abby and I got pampered with manicures and pedicures and the boys went to a movie.

Thursday we took them back to the airport and we already miss them. Adriana waves at every plane she sees and says, "Hi Paul and Abby". She was very sad at the airport when she couldn't get on the plane with them. I was tempted to send her. :)

And sadly, this is the on picture I snapped with them. No Paul. :( Oh well. Next time!

Ready for my hike!

It has been a while since I last posted. A lot has happened, I just haven't gotten a moment to capture it down. Here is a summary of Adriana's first big road trip.

The beginning of June we took a road trip to North Dakota to see Rob's sister and her family. It is quite a drive so we decided to split up the drive into 2 days each way and do some site seeing along the way. Going up we stopped and stayed in Hulet, Wyoming (a town that made me appreciate the variety of restaurants and cell phone coverage living in a bigger city) outside of Devil's Tower. It was a cute little town where you could walk anywhere you wanted to go and actually our hotel was pretty nice. We decided to hike around Devils Tower, which is only 1.3 miles. Ade rode in style in a backpack on Daddy back and loved the "awesome Eiffel tower".

After that we headed back on the road and arrive in Bismarck, ND that afternoon at the Roaldson house. Adriana was very excited to see her cousins Madeline and Anna. They were so great with her and played with her constantly. She really had a blast. She stayed up late, slept in and napped at 5. Completely off schedule but she did great. While we were there they took us to the museum, the pool, the zoo and on a boat ride down the river for dinner one night. It was Adriana's first boat ride. It was a big boat and she loved it. We had a great time and their family was so nice and welcoming. Thanks Aunt Janine and Uncle Jon!

After we left Bismarck, we headed south to South Dakota to see Mt Rushmore. When we arrived it was dinner time and after dinner, Ade was in a great mood so we decided to go see Rushmore at night. We got there about 7:30 and ended up staying until after 10. Both Rob and I had been there but never at night. It was pretty cool and Ade had a blast running through the flags and all around. She was pretty interested in the presidents and informed us that George Washington was her favorite (I still believe that she had some coaxing from Daddy on that one). As we were leaving and she was tired, she informed us "Mommy, Teddy Roosevelt played in our backyard with Clyde". Grandma Carol has a little dog that Adriana loves named Teddy that comes over when Grandma babysits.

All in all we had a great and very successful trip. By the last day we were all ready to get home and Adriana was very ready to see Clyde. He will never know how much he was missed. :) We made one last stop at a petting farm outside Mt Rushmore. Adriana loves animals more than anything so petting zoos are the best! I will post those pics in my next post.

My snow babies

So we were snowed in today as a big storm has set in over the Denver area. I think snowed in is stretching....but it was nasty enough that I didn't want to go out and drive on the roads with Adriana. Better safe than sorry.

Uncle Chad and Aunt Tara kindly came by and brought us lunch and hung out. We played in the snow and well, both Clyde and Adriana had a ball! Here are some videos of both my kiddos playing in the snow. :)

Zoo Lights

Here are a couple pictures of us at the zoo lights last night.  It was freezing, but Adriana loved it, she was bundled up like the kid on the Christmas Story. :)  She ooo'ed and ahhh'ed at all the lights and animals.  She loved the giraffes.   She was so tired but cried and pointed at the zoo as if we were taking away her favorite toy when we left.  It was a lot of fun.  Ally, Grandpa and Aunt Tara joined us.   Luckily Santa was there as we had not taken her to see him yet.  We tried at the mall but it was so chaotic we decided not to.  We were feeling like terrible parents for not having the 1st Christmas-kid screaming on Santa's lap picture.  She actually didn't mind.  Ally sat with her so that helped a lot.

Happy Father's Day, Update

Rob's first Father's day all in all went pretty well.  He got to golf all day Saturday and then Sunday Adriana and I took him on a picnic to the park.  Adriana really enjoyed laying on a blanket in the grass.  We finished the day at my sister's having dinner with my family.  It was a fun weekend and Rob got in some good relaxation time.  I even let him play video games on Sunday during daylight hours. :)  Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Adriana rolled over from front to back 3 times tonight at my sister's.  She seems to be getting the hang of it.  She really wants to roll from front to back but when she is about to flip, she kind of freaks herself out and stops.  When she is on her stomach, she is starting to put her legs underneath herself and sticks her butt in the air.  She is getting more and more ready to get moving around herself.  I am excited for all that to come but am sure going to miss this time right now when I can control where she goes.  She is growing so fast!!  I have a feeling the next few months are going to be a whirlwind.   Her favorite toy of the week is Elmo.  I think the main attraction of him are the eyes atop his head.  They are very easy to put in her mouth.

This week we are heading to Vegas to have a reunion with some of Rob's family.  I am sure I will have lots of pictures to post next week.

Weekend in Breckenridge

Just chilling in my favorite pj's
Taking a nap with Grandpa
Adriana with Ally

We spend this last weekend in Breckenridge at my sister's condo.  It was nice for us to get out of town and really just have a weekend to relax.  It was especially nice being with my family as there was no shortage of people that wanted to give Adriana all of their attention.  I got to actually read a book and had one whole meal that wasn't interrupted.  I can't remember that last time that happened.

Adriana discovered her feet this last week.  I am not sure that is a milestone per say but it provides me with a lot of entertainment.  Today she figured out how to get her toes into her mouth.  She seemed fairly impressed with herself once she accomplished this.  She has been in a great mood as of late.  Lots of smiles and giggles for us.  It is nice.  It makes you think that you might be doing something right.

Here are some pictures of the week.

I don't want to be in pictures!

Here are some pictures from the week.  As you can see, it is quite a task these days to get Adriana to smile in pictures.  She will be smiling away and when she sees the camera, she immediately stops.  She might be trying to tell me something.  Enjoy!
                         These toys are so boring.

   Just chilling with dad.
