Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was very busy at our house.  It started a few days before when Rachael (pictured above with Adriana) came to visit.  Rachael is my oldest and bestest friend in the world.  She lives in Kentucky with her husband and son Nathan.  It was so great to see her and Adriana took to her right away.   Rachael and I have known each other since we were 10 years old.  We wish she lived closer so we could see her and her family more often.

We also took Adriana to her first Colorado Rapids Soccer game.  Rob and I have only been to a few but they are a lot of fun and she loved it.  She seems to really like crowd noise and cheering so sporting events are a great place to take her.  Adriana also had her first big screen appearance.  I was standing up with her and they zoomed in on her and she was on the big screen at the game.   They kept her on the screen for quite a while.   She is famous before she is even 1.

Sunday we went to another Rockies game.  She had a good time but it was a day game and very very hot so we had to keep her in the shade.  We ended the weekend with a big barbeque with my family at my sister Holly's house.

So it was a packed weekend and Adriana had a lot of late nights that she actually did well with.  I thought we would have a severely grumpy child but all in all she was great.  She adapted really well to all the different things going on.  She is pretty good at going with the flow.

Just because I love it!

This is from a few months back but it is one of my favorites that I found today while doing her memory book.  One of my favorite parts of the day is after bath time...she is just so much more adorable than she usual.

My First Rockies Game

Last night Adriana attended her first Rockies game.  You can't really tell but she dressed up for the event.  She had her Rockies gear on.  She did really good.   She just sat in my lap and chilled. We were able to stay for 3 innings.  The Rockies didn't win but we had a great time.  It looks good for Adriana to become a big baseball fan just like her mom.   And being a fan of any sport makes dad happy.

I don't want to be in pictures!

Here are some pictures from the week.  As you can see, it is quite a task these days to get Adriana to smile in pictures.  She will be smiling away and when she sees the camera, she immediately stops.  She might be trying to tell me something.  Enjoy!
                         These toys are so boring.

Pictures from the week

Here are a couple pictures from this week.  As you can see, Adriana is getting very big and now that she has good head control we are loving sitting by ourselves in the bumbo chair.  She also loves to watch TV.  I try to deter it but the colors and movement fascinate her.  She seems to like Sportscenter and the Today show.  She seems to be a Matt Lauer fan (and so is her mom).  I think she likes his voice.  (A better mom would just turn off the TV...)

Adriana also started sleeping in her crib this week.  It is a very big step for her...and me.  She is doing well and has slept through the night in there.  It hasn't seemed to phase her at all.  It has been much harder on me not having her in the same room. In fact I think she sleeps much better now that Rob and I  are not in the same room as her.  We were apparently too loud and kept her up.
