You're my best friend

The Week that is was...

So this past week was a very long week in the Etchepare house.  Adriana had a low fever most of the week and was really out of sorts.  I figured she was teething and was confirmed yesterday when one broke through.  I also noticed there is 3 more that are about to.  Poor kid.  I would be crabby too!!!!  This picture is how we spent most of the week,  on the couch, with our milk and snack watching videos.

Bed Head and other random updates

Can you see it?  It is a little hard to see.....(is it called bedhead when it is on the side of your head?)  I am sure that you are wondering why I am so excited about it....it means that Adriana finally has enough hair for it to get messy.   She is still pretty thin in the hair department but we are getting there!  Some day!  The other day after I combed her hair the back started to curl a bit and you can imagine how excited I was.  Her daddy has curly hair (if he had enough hair and grew it out...sorry honey!) so this may be one more trait that takes after his side.  Her morning hair also is likes wings on the side of her head, exact same as he gets.  Still not sure she is related to me....

Ade is walking a lot.  She is getting pretty good at it.  Still a little wobbly and we have had some amazing and devastating falls, but she is determined.  She even tried to run yesterday.  She did pretty good.  She hasn't learned how to get up unless she has something to pull onto so if she falls in the middle of the room, she will crawl but she is getting good at getting from here to there and staying upright.

She is talking up a storm as well.  Ok, that she gets from me, the gift of gab.   And much like me she rambles on and on to whoever will listen.  As for words, there are some I understand but mostly gibberish.  She does have mom and dada down and really likes to sit and scream them at us as loud as she can about 15 times in a row.   She likes to say that a sheep says "baa" and the other night she said pig perfectly.

She has also decided that 5 a.m. is an acceptable time to get up in the morning.  Her and I really disagree on this point.  It makes for a very long day for both of us.    I am working on breaking this habit but so far unsuccessfully.

Adriana and Clyde the dog are still the best of friends.  They are constantly getting into things together.  They love to play with the leash together as you can see from above.  It can keep them occupied for quite a while.

I have Adriana enrolled in a music class and at a place called My Gym.  She loves her time at My Gym.  It is a big place for them to run around and play and burn off some energy.  She has so much fun there and loves playing with the other little kids.  She cries when we leave each week and gets so excited when she knows we are headed back there.  Music class is teaching her a lot of nursery rhymes and signs.  She really is catching on.  She will try and mimic what we have learned when the songs come on in the back of the car.  Twinkle twinkle little star is her favorite as well as the itsy bitsy spider.  She claps when she hears them then tries to do the signs we have learned to them.   I know every parents says this, but she is quite a smart kid. :)

I think that is about it.  At least enough for today!

Valentine's Weekend

All my kiddos.  Love them all.  Good looking group!
And yes, that is underwear around her neck.  It was Weird
Science day at our house...
Best Diet Coke ever!!!!
That was refreshing!!!

This weekend we had a great Valentine's Day weekend.  Rob and I got to go out to eat alone on Friday and had a nice long dinner.  Saturday we had my niece and nephew Ally and Brandt come over and had so much fun with them.   They are great kids and I love having them around.  Adriana loves Ally more than anyone (and I mean anyone, including me, when she is around she only wants her...it is really cute) and Brandt loves to play with Clyde and wear him out so it really is a win win to have them over.  I get to spend time with them and they are a great help.

Sunday I was very sick and am still battling it but Rob was great and let me have a day in bed.  That is what these last pictures are of.   Dad and Adriana's day o' fun.    I guess I should explain the bottom pictures.  Rob taught Adriana that after she drinks to make a big "awwww" sound, like it was so refreshing.  So she takes our pop bottles, pretends to drink from them and then makes the biggest "awwww", as you can tell by the picture.

P.S. The outfit was also picked out by daddy.  It matches and while I bought the top and bottom at the same time, they were not exactly meant to go together.  But he did good. :)

And my latest trick is...

walking!!!  Adriana has been taking steps for a while but last Friday she walked across the entire length of our great room and has been going ever since.  She is still a tad bit wobbly.  And she feels the need to carry lots of things in her hands which doesn't really help when you don't have good balance to begin with.  But she is doing it more and more each day.

Here is a video.  I am not the best videographer and it is not a cinematic masterpiece...but you get the idea. :)

The Many Faces of Adriana

Here is a couple of the priceless looks Adriana gives.  She has the funniest facial expressions, many resembling an old man.  The top one we call Popeye, the bottom, Bubba Gump.

Kennel Time

So I have a feeling that the next few blogs will be Clyde related as our worlds seems to revolve around the both of them. :) Here is a picture of them chilling in the kennel together. Clyde hates his kennel mind you and thinks it is the worst possible place on earth. But apparently when Adriana crawls in, he has no issue being in there. He wants to be wherever she is. In fact, at night, after we put her to bed he wanders around looking for her. I think at first Rob thought he was looking for me but after I come down, he still is sad and searching.
