Seriously, how cute are they?
Welcome to Adriana's blog! She is incredibly smart, but has not yet mastered the english language or typing. Therefore, for the next 5 years we will dictate on her behalf.

Butterfly Pavilion
Tonight we are taking her to her first Broncos game. We are meeting Grandpa John and Grandma Karen there so it should be fun. As much as I would like to have her first game be a Raiders game, we won't be in Oakland anytime soon and I would never subject my child to Bronco fans at a Raiders game in Denver. Rob and I stopped going a few years ago the harassment was so bad. And something tells me that they wouldn't stop even if we had a baby with us....(sorry Bronco fans but you know it is true, I know it is our fault for being Raiders fans in Bronco country) So maybe in a few years, we will take her to Oakland. It is still scary but at least we are wearing the same colors as the scary guys.:)

Vacation at the Hot Springs
So this week Rob is taking a much needed vacation from work. We decided to get out of town for a few days and just have some family time without any stresses from home. We went to Glenwood Springs. It was a lot of fun. The hot springs pool is gigantic and warm and we all loved it. It was really relaxing and a nice getaway. We did a lot of swimming, a lot of walking around the town and a lot of chill-laxin!
Adriana liked the pool. She loves the water. We bought her a floatie to sit in and she loved that. Being led around the pool while sitting back is just her style. When we were in the kids pool and got to the depth where she can touch with her feet, she stood up and immediately took off walking in the water. She was so excited she could do it. She really wants to take off walking and tries to whenever she has the opportunity. I don't know that she can handle being immobile on her own for much longer. Sheer determination might get her moving sooner rather than later.
Above are some pictures of her in the water and some with us. The one in the robe is after we got back from the pool. Like any diva, Adriana really enjoyed sitting in her robe and relaxing after a long swim.

Sitting up!

So over the last week or so Adriana has really been practicing sitting on her own. She has been able to do it but apparently liked having me sit behind her..just in case she topples over. Yesterday she finally started sitting without me behind her. She still is a little wobbly but she is getting it. She is getting more and more independent.
She is changing so much now it is hard to keep up. She has decided that naps are not all that important so we are back to that day time struggle.....she has also started to be afraid of plastic bags. When you open them or she hears them crumple she cries. You have to keep her away from the garbage when you are changing the bag. It is a little strange, but as Rachael pointed out it is only fitting in a family that all has weird quirks like a mother who has a fear of velvet and a father that is afraid of wooden spoons. Hopefully Adriana will overcome hers unlike Rob and I.

Cheyenne Frontier Days
Last weekend we went to Cheyenne to visit some friends. It was the first weekend of Cheyenne Frontier Days but we didn't go to any of the events. But we were in Cheyenne and Frontier Days was going on so I am calling it her first official one.....I have a picture of her in a cowboy hat. :) We also stopped to see Gia, who someday will be BFF with Adriana. At first Gia was annoyed with Adriana because she kept pulling her dress but then Gia started showing Adriana all her toys and I think they hit it off. She also got to hang out with a couple of our other friends boys, Brock and Dane. They didn't seem to want to have much to do with each other (which was fine by Rob, he hopes she never likes boys...) but they took turns taking each others toys.
Other than that, we started swim lessons a couple weeks ago. Adriana loves the water...doesn't so much love when you make her do things in the water. But she is getting it. She loves to kick in the water so that helps, but floating on her back and going under water, no thank you. They took some underwater pictures of us that I will post when they send them to me. Adriana has started to sit up on her own for very short periods. She can do it but when she realizes she is, she stops. But I think anyday now it will start to click and she will love it.
